I'm an American homeschooling my daughter overseas. I bought this book thinking it would be great to teach handwriting. While I love the style and layout of the book, I'm not sure it is going to work very well for us. If you look at one of the example pages, you'll notice that there isn't very much tracing practice before the student is expected to write the cursive letters. I think that for some students it might be too big of a jump from manuscript to cursive without first getting the feel of how the hand should be moving when writing the letter. Since there are 3 or 4 lines of practice for each letter, I'm not sure why more tracing practice was not included. Also, there weren't any arrows on the practice letter to show which way the pencil should go. There are written instructions, but I think children might benefit from having a visual queue. We're going give this book another week, but if my daughter is still frustrated, then I'll be looking for a new book.

This is the best handwriting curriculum I have seen. I love that it reinforces the grammar skills that the student are learning. I also really like the "Chapter Check-up" where the students write their best and evaluate their writing by answering questions about it, such as, "Am I keeping all letters on the baseline?" I also love that it incorporates the Bible as much as possible.

This book is perfect for a child who has had a full two years of manuscript and needs to bush up on it before he jumps into learning cursive his third year. It gives detail for learning cursive. That's the part that sold me. It doesn't just give you a letter to write, it starts with parts of the letter for the child to start with. Perfect.

This book almost immediately jumps into cursive handwriting. My child needs more practice with manuscript so I will use this workbook second semester. I am excited to use it. The cursive lessons seem well thought out and cursive letters are introduced well.
