Product DescriptionTeaching your 3- to 6-year-olds at home? You'll need a comprehensive game plan! Like interlocking pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, the "building blocks" of this 37-week curriculum integrate Scripture, social studies, science, language, arithmetic, music, art, and physical education to help youngsters examine their world from a biblical viewpoint. Kids learn through cross-curricular, hands-on activities centered on a common theme. (For instance, one day they might read Genesis 1:11--13; sing "He Plants Me Like a Seed"; pull weeds in the garden; and play the language arts game "Plant Concentration.") A "Father's Devotional" facilitates Dad's active participation. Includes audiocassette. 466 pages, 3-ring binder.

6 of 6 Reviews Showing: Reviewed by Jennifer (Canada), May 08, 2010We have just started working with this with our 4 year old daughter (kindergarten level) and almost 3 year old son who really needed some mental challenging. So far we have all loved it. I love the variety of activities and the way it is all centered on Scripture, and the way it makes it easy to explain trickier concepts like the Trinity. The kids love all the arts and crafts suggested in each page, and the huge variety of hands on activities. They remember a lot from the hands on things! It does require some preparation, mostly in material gathering for each lesson, but I'm trying to get organized enough to do a week at a time instead of just the night before and that will help a great deal. The only thing that so far I don't like is that it still comes with an audiocassette - I don't even have a way to play it anymore, and being very unmusical myself, it would be nice to have a CD that I could turn on to help teach the kids the songs. Reviewed by Eileen Harris (Suffolk, VA), January 28, 2010Absolutely love this program. I have tried other programs and nothing felt like I was totally in charge of what was taught and I always felt like I had to come up with my own schedule to make things work. This program is exactly what it says, a biblical program from which all "subjects" are taught to a preschooler. I cannot wait to get into Volume 1 when we are done with preschool. I highly recommend this product to those who want to teach their children how to learn and want to use the bible to do it. Reviewed by Lindy Rose Greaves (South Africa), May 03, 2008I have really enjoyed using this curriculum with my 6 and 4 yo children. Each topic starts off with the Bible lesson, and then is discussed in Science, Social Science etc. We have done art and observation projects related to the theme. Some of the themes have been: light, the moon, the sun, space rocks, plants, mammals, fish, the lungs, our skin and so many others! The Dad's devotion helped involve Dad more in our homeschool, and keeps him up to speed with what we're studying. This curriculum only needs Math and a phonics/reading program added for an older child. It is flexble enough to add to or leave out things, as your family needs. Reviewed by Stephanie (Lincoln, Maine), March 13, 2008This is an excellent pre-k/K curriculum that includes everything you need, except a reading program. Because of the length of time it spends on creation, the retention rate is high in young children. The projects reinforce what is being learned and are easy to do with your children. It also includes so many activities for developing fine and gross motor skills, language, and pure curiosity. This is not a program for parents who want their child to be a genius, but for those who want to immerse them in God's creation and help them develop necessary skills to continue learning. Everything is laid out day-by-day with minimal preperation. You can follow it to a "t", supplement, or take away. It is flexible. My child has grown by leaps and bounds in the 28 weeks we have used this curriculum so far- not just in knowledge, but skills. Check it out! Reviewed by Crystal (Pleasant Gap, PA), November 30, 2007I loved the idea of this product. Weaving Bible with every day life. But we quickly got bored with the creation story and wanted to move on to other parts of the Bible. Reviewed by Crystal Hale (Riverside, CA), September 12, 2007I have just started using this product and I love the way it includes the Dads. My daughter is 3 and she can not quit answer all the questions for preschoolers but then again she knows some of the kindergarten stuff. So overall it is okay so far. I like the fact that I can make copies teach her whatever she will pick up and then use it again next year when she is preschool age (4). It is very God centered and has a lot of activities that are fun for them to do.
