Great method for teaching math at the beginning level. There are concepts taught with ease included in this curriculum that are not introduced until second grade and beyond in other curriculums.

This has been wonderful for us. Rightstart starts each concept with concrete hands on lessons before moving to the abstract. It teaches several strategies for addition, subtraction, etc. It uses an abacus with beads colored in groups of 5. This allows one to easily see a group of 8 beads as 5 and 3 without counting. The abacus has a second side that helps with place value and trading. Games vs. worksheets are emphasized. This curriculum has improved my math skills, and I had straight A's in math. I don't spend much time in preparing for the lessons. I just look ahead a bit, and then spend 5 minutes before the lesson to get ready.
