8 of 9 Reviews Showing:(View All Reviews) Reviewed by cathie dexter (huntingtown, md), March 05, 2010I homeschool 4 children. Three are classic textbook learners. My 9 year is not. Which led to alot of frustration and feeling of failure on both of our parts. This math is truly a God send!! She loves the software and is actually EXCITED about doing the work. It has given her a confidence that she CAN learn (especially when she sees her siblings accelling while she struggles). If your child is an audio learner, rather than a visual, this is the solution. My only complaint is that there aren't any other subjects available through Teaching Text. Reviewed by Nancy Timbrook (Pensacola, FL), February 12, 2010Teaching Textbooks is a great program. We finally found a math my daughter enjoys and learns from. We have tried dozens of programs and she struggled and struggled. This program helps her enjoy as she learns and is very thorough. Reviewed by Martha Matthews (Waynesville, NC), January 25, 2010This is a great self-paced math program that my 9 year old is really enjoying. Very easy set-up, nice quality, and good instruction. Reviewed by Jo Anna (Washington), January 07, 2010WONDERFUL program. My son took the placement test on the publishers website. We've tried ABeka, Switched-On and now Teaching Textbooks. I asked my son his opinion and his response was "it's better than the other ones". Some of the reviews seem to be misleading in that they imply that TT lags behind other curriculum. However, anyone wanting to use this particular math curriculum should always administer a placement test prior to using it for their child. Perhaps those who seem to feel negative about this program would benefit from this. Also, one review implies your child won't go anywhere in life if they use this program, including college. This simply isn't true. Our 19 year old son attended public High School on an IEP for math and reading. He attends College, 2nd year and will become a Firefighter. He may someday save lives, maybe yours yet his math is not good. To this day he only does basic math... even in college. Don't be discouraged... Luke 1:37 Our children are a gift from the Lord and will grow up to be all HE wants them to be. If your child is advanced, place them in a TT higher grade level math.If your child is below grade level place him/her in a lower TT grade level math. All children function at different levels in most areas, not every child is the same. This program is truly a blessing at our house. Reviewed by Lisa Cooper (Leslie, MI), November 16, 2009I have been searching for years to find a math program that works well for my children and I have finally found it. This program allows my children to work independently. So far they have not even come to me for any explanations and the quality of the work they turn in shows they are understanding their math. Also, it doesn't take them long to do the lessons and I am hearing no complaints. The initial cost seems high, but it is well worth it. Reviewed by luvhomeschool (Spokane, WA), October 26, 2009This is amazing. My children love it. Both my 2nd and 4th grader are using the 4th grade Teaching Textbooks. They initiate the lesson and even asked to do it over the weekend. We just started so it's pretty easy. They can do 2 to 3 lessons a day. Also, it's promotes independant learning which is something I have been trying to do for a while. My son has stuggles with math, mostly because he hates the subject and he even loves this. He told me it was his "enemy made easy". Great product so far. Reviewed by Kimberly Lodolce (Joliet, IL), September 18, 2009My daughter just loves this program. She literally begs me to do math now and will typically do more than one lesson a day. The only drawback I have with it, is the lack of repetition. She will do well on the lesson, but then when I go back a couple of days later as a review, she has lost some of it. So we have added daily review - flashcards, quick questions, etc to supplement it. Reviewed by Susan Galgoci (Mayville, MI), September 17, 2009I am very happy with this math. I switched to this because of others telling me about it. It has freed me up to have more time with my younger kids. My daughter does it all on her own and as of yet has needed no help from me. She has gone from hating math to loving it! My son is a year younger so he will not switch to T.T. until next year. He watches her and asks why he can't do her math. It is definitely worth the money!
