Two DVDs worth of material will give you quite a head-start learning American sign language! Over 600 signs are taught with memory devices to help you quickly recall different words. Each sign is reviewed twice. The first time, the sign is reviewed with the English word; the second time is a "flashcard review" where you are only shown the English word, and you must remember the sign. This DVD can be used on its own, but students will find their study enhanced with the complementary textbook Sign Language for Everyone (sold separately, #69862). Approx. 4 hours.

When Dr. Cathy Rice says her course will teach you all you’ll need to begin communicating with the deaf, she says it authoritatively. Her own child became deaf at age two. Longing for her daughter to understand the gospel of Christ, Cathy learned to tell Bible stories in sign language. In the 1950s, her husband, Bill Rice, a preacher, started a camp for the deaf near Nashville. Here Cathy taught her first signing class. Having spent most of her life in service to the deaf, Cathy makes an excellent DVD teacher. Her lessons move rapidly and require practice, but she provides review and encouragement along the way. The diagrams in the book correspond to the signs Cathy demonstrates on the DVD. You might be surprised how early in the course you’ll be able to put together signs to make sentences. Keep practicing and you will soon be able to minister to those who hear with their eyes. Two DVDs, approx. 4 hours total.

I am enjoying learning sign language from the DVDs that I ordered from Christian Books. I am saving hundreds of dollars that I would have otherwise spent taking a college class and I'm able to learn at my own speed. Thank you for providing such a wonderful product.

This is a GREAT course! We're using it for homeschool and after just a few lessons we are already signing. REALLY worth the money.

Words are organized in a great way to make them easy to remember. Lessons are very long. I wish they were divided more on the DVD, but I still love the product.

This course is great. My girls get so excited when it is time to watch our lesson. You can move at your own pace and there are plenty of reviews to help you.
