I purchased this book for summer review because my daughter is transferring into a charter school that teaches Getty-Dubay handwriting. It really is a much better handwriting system than the ball and stick system used by most schools. It is faster and has a distinctive and noticeably neater look, with a smoother transition to cursive down the road. It is somewhat difficult for kids who have already learned ball-and-stick to transition. It's just a matter of tons of practice. Teaching handwriting at home is like teaching a teenager to drive -- better if someone else does it!!!

Italics is a fabulous homeschooling tool. Not only is the teaching clear and concise, but the written word is legible, practical and beautiful. It also provides a basis for learning other lettering styles, such as calligraphy. I love this program!

My 4 year old son was desperate learn cursive. This book is amazing. He is blowing the family away with his skill. I highly recommend this program!

I've always been told boys don't like to write, but these workbooks are cutely illustrated and allow enough interest for my son to complete 2 or 3 pages. I really like the transition from italic to cursive, it so simple and does make for neater writing, I also appreciate the teacer's manual, it's full of help.

I love these books. My six year old is beginning to learn the Italic Cursive and he is easily learning the series and connections. There is a box at the end of each line, and he saves the best for the box. My younger son is beginning the Italic A, and the large lines and letters make it easy for him to begin.
