Modern Curriculum Press Math is a great series. They introduce each new "topic" in very easy to follow, simple step by step instructions. Then allow the students to practice. Each topic is taught to mastery before the next topic is introduced, building upon the last topic that was taught.

This particular book is my favorite in this series. This is when it kicks into serious stuff! The explanations and examples are easily understood and my sons really got a grasp on the meaning of formula here. This book gently introduces simple examples of higher math. Love It!

This series builds in an easy to follow manner, providing excellent examples for the student to work through when new concepts are introduced. It is designed to use two pagaes a day. For a self-starter, this is an excellent series that requires little teacher interaction. For the student that needs more help, there is good information in the teacher's editions for different approaches. My only complaint is that although it is a consumable workbook, there really isn't enough space to do all the problems and show your work, so we frequently are copying problems onto seperate paper.
