Product Description

The Bible Study Guide consists of 4 units (4 years) of study. Some Old Testament and some New Testament lessons are studied each year so that students will have an opportunity to study great spiritual truths as faith, love, salvation, worship, the church, sin, etc. in each unit. The studies begin with three young men-Joseph, Daniel, and Jesus-about which nearly everyone has some knowledge. These studies provide the foundation for future learning experiences. The units are designed to review old information and add on new information, while application is being encouraged.

We have been using this program for a year. Strengths of the program: 1. The individualized workbooks allow various level to use the same curriculum. Right now we are using all three levels and it works for my K student who cannot write, my 2nd grader who can write but not a lot, and my 5th grader. It's a great fit for a multi-level family. 2. The program has you reading sizable chunks of your actual Bible daily (sounds obvious but many programs have you hunting and pecking a verse here and there, or summarizing much of it). 3. The visual elements of the worksheets adds a visual/kinestetic element to the auditory. Also, the sheets are not just "coloring pictures" but circling this, drawing that, tasks that make them think through/process the information. 4. The entire program together is quite comprehensive--lots of review questions, references, game suggestions, visuals, maps and other things to keep Bible time fresh and appealing. 5. I love the time line element of the program, it helps tie everything back together and grasp the big picture of God's plan. Things I'd like to see improved: 1. If you use all of the bells and whistles of the program, it can become cumbersome. We've learned to nip and tuck it here and there to make it work for us, but even then there is a fair amount of flipping and keeping up with worksheets, timeline pieces, game cards, etc. Although it's nice to have so many options, sometimes I long for a slightly tighter program. 2. There are occasional "disconnects" between different resources within the program. Sometimes the guide will call for a song not on the CD or the review questions in the book are redundant on the sheets, etc. I think pieces have been revised along the way and the publisher needs to go back over the ENTIRE curriculum and synchronize changes between editions.

This Bible study keeps the attention and interest of all ages. It is simple to use, has great illustrations, games, review, time line, and more. Practically no preparation needed. I would buy this again hands down.
